Private lessons

Elizabeth’s studio is located in north central Baltimore City. Street parking is readily available. There is one step up into the building. Please let me know if you have accessibility needs or questions.

Lessons are 45 minutes long. In general, the first part of the lesson is movement and the second part is table work, which is conducted fully clothed on a bodywork table. Please wear clothing you are comfortable lying down, sitting, walking, and bending in, and wear or bring socks.

Pricing and Policies

Lessons are $60 for 45 minutes. If this cost is prohibitive, contact me and let me know what will work for you. Cost should not be a barrier to learning Alexander Technique. If you would like to take an introductory lesson with a friend, the cost is $40 each for 60 minutes. This can be a fun way to explore something new together.

Referral discount: For current students, if you refer a friend, you will each receive $10 off one lesson.

When you first get in touch, we will schedule an introductory lesson. After the intro lesson, I ask that you schedule at least three lessons at a time to make sure you get onto my calendar and so that I may plan the progression of the lessons.

If you need to cancel your lesson, you must notify me at least 24 hours in advance, preferably via text or phone call (410-306-5053). A student who cancels more than one lesson with less than 24 hours notice, for any reason, will be required to pay for the cancelled lesson(s).

How many do I need?

A minimum of four lessons is recommended to gain benefit from AT. As with learning anything else—a musical instrument, another language, a new sport—the longer you study, the greater your understanding and the more you will benefit. The number of lessons students take varies depending on each student’s level of function at the beginning of lessons as well as his/her/their reason for studying AT. Many students take a series of lessons, take a break, and then come back later for “refresher” lessons.
